How it Works

IC is built around four ideas:

  • Intake Sources (ADF, photo, exports) feed a single Placement Queue.

  • Adaptive Organization (A1–A20, B1–B20, etc.) with capacity and order to represent your physical lanes/BCW boxes.

  • Optimized Pulls convert pack-slips into a route that follows your real inventory in the least amount of steps.

  • Quality Control audits keep inventory accurate and reviews clean.

Intake

ADF Scanner (Ricoh & others)

  • Feed a stack; IC captures and preserves scan order.
  • Recommended start: 300 DPI, Auto processes turned off, “Card/Thick” media.

*Quick tip, buy a Ricoh 8170... Trust me.

.

Why ADF? It’s the fastest, lowest-friction way to intake large volumes with the best scans. Plus it's automatic.

Photo Intake (Phone/Webcam)

  • Literally just take a photo, flash on, off it doesn't matter. Our systems fix all alignment and colors for nearly perfect outputs. Expect 99.9% on modern cards and above 90% for all the old stuff.

ManaBox & CSV Imports

  • Upload exports (ManaBox, generic CSV).
  • Merge seamlessly with live scans in the Placement Queue.
  • Full transparency these kind of do have to be sorted, at least in the order the app generates the list. Apps just don't tell us when you scanned what. If this is your only option sort the cards first then scan them.

*V2 will launch with a full app scanner

Placement

IC replaces set-based shelving with smart sections that adapt to your actual inventory, not the theoretical one!

How placement works

  1. Fill Gaps: IC looks for available capacity in existing sections.
  2. Open New Slots: When needed, we open the next Slot automatically.
  3. Record Location: Each card gets a specific spot for precise retrieval.

Organization is simple, A-ZZZZ is the large category. Each letter (A, BB, AAB) represents 900 slots. Each slot has 5 cards in it.

.

*Quick tip 900 slots is a BCW Monster box...

.

Example: A2.5 - In our case it's Box A, Slot 2, Card 5

.

Benefits

  • No more sorting New Inventory
  • Highest storage density (especially in BCW Monster boxes)
  • Faster training for staff: “Follow the section numbers”

Design Tips

  • Set box capacity (e.g., ~900 slots per box).
  • Put dividers between each 10 groupings of slots. Then pop a thermal label on :)

What IC does

  • Parse: Read item lines from your pack-slip PDF.
  • Map: Match each item to its current section location.
  • Optimize: Compute a route respecting your Section Order (and aisle path).
  • Output: A clean, pull-optimized PDF so each order is already IN Order.

Result: Less zig-zag, fewer steps, faster pulls, fewer misses.

.

Oh yeah, it also works for DIRECT!

FOILS! & Problems

Inventory Control has skills, skills it's acquired over many years... It's pretty resilient, though if it makes a mistake. There is NO circumstance where it writes data to anything.

If it is unsure it checks with the user. ;)

Security

Everything lives on your computer. In fact V1 doesn't connect to the internet...

With your explicit permission, V2 will collect scan data we'd like to use it to train better models for card recognition.

FAQs

Do I need to sort at all anymore?

This version does need all the same set. They do NOT have to be in order. V2... Not at all.

.

Will the optimizer change my original pack-slip?

Only re-ordered. Plus we generate a new one. The original PDF is untouched and we output a new pull-optimized PDF with all the same info.

.

Which scanners work?

Ricoh 8170 is the best. Literally anything with a camera works fine though. We preserve scan order for perfect placement.

.

Can I mix intake sources (scan + CSV + photos)?

Yes. Everything goes through the same Placement Queue with consistent placement rules.

.

What if we misplace a lot of cards at once?

Set a lower threshold to trigger partial/full audits automatically; export a CSV to reconcile stock the same day.

.

Do I get V2 for Free?

Yes! All new updates will be given Free to all customers until the first 5 units sell. Then V1 will be gone...

.

Why Buy Today?

V2 will be a subscription... If I read this far I would be interested. V1 is a market test. V2 is just a literal few days off from being complete. I wouldn't wait... :)
